Sally Shalam is a seasoned travel journalist who, after circumnavigating the globe several times, discovered Britain beckoned more powerfully than more exotic destinations. Her CV includes the launch of British Elle in the mid-Eighties, World of Interiors, Scotland on Sunday magazine, The Daily and Sunday Telegraph and London Evening Standard.

Freelance since 2004, she has recently started blogging, as www.sallyshalamsbritain.co.uk while continuing to review for the Guardian and write about her UK experiences in other papers and glossy magazines. Outspoken in her appreciation of the ingenuity and innovation she finds in British accommodation, about the importance of amplifying regional attributes, and where to get a decent pint, hers is a welcome voice at conferences and tourism events.
