    Christian sits on the TUI UK & Ireland board. With major brands Thomson and First Choice, TUI is the UK's market leading tour operator. It is also the country's third largest airline, with Thomson Airways.

    Christian joined TUI in August 2009, taking a newly created role that includes PR, Internal Communications and Sustainable Development.
     
    His first winter in the travel industry saw UK airports closed for snow, while his first spring brought the full disruption of the Icelandic volcano crisis. The second spring even has its own name, as North Africa saw great change which had significant subsequent impact on the travel industry
     
    Christian joined TUI with a wealth of experience across a number of leading household brands.
     
    His most recent previous role was Director of Customer Communications at Sky his remit there included Sky News and Sky brand PR, with overall responsibility for the strategic direction of all consumer PR programmes across the business. He was also responsible for Sky’s portfolio of magazines, as well as its customer loyalty and customer promotions programmes.
     
    Christian spent six years at Waitrose, arriving as Head of PR and leaving as Marketing Director, a role he held for two years before moving on to Sky. At Waitrose, he was responsible for all aspects of the marketing mix, reporting to the managing director.
     
    The move in house to Waitrose came after working at both Nexus Choat and then Counsel (part of the Huntsworth Group) PR agencies, during which time he worked on a range of client accounts including Heinz, Müller and McVitie’s. Before that, Christian was a journalist, leaving The Grocer magazine for the world of public relations. While there, he passed the Chartered Institute of Marketing Diploma, and is a member of the CIM.  Christian read English at Oriel College, Oxford University.
     
    He lives in Surrey and is married with 2 young children.
